Converting the ashes of loved ones into diamond

Yes, it can be done now. The ashes of a dead person is purified into high grade carbon which is then subjected into high pressure and high temperature. Carbon then crystalizes into diamond after about 16 weeks.  One such company that offers the conversion of dead pets or persons into synthetic diamond is Lifegem.  The conversion process of ash into diamond takes 6 months if you want the yellow Lifegem diamond and 9 months if you want the blue Lifegem diamond. The cost is $2,500 for 0.20–0.29 carat stones and $14,000 for 0.90–0.99 carat stones.

  1. The prices you quote are very high, there are another two companies in the UK who charge £996 for a 1/4 carat yellow diamond and £3985 per carat for other sizes, they also make blue in about 3 months but charge about £10,000/carat, one is called ‘phoenix-diamonds.com and the other is ‘ashes2gems.com’

  2. thanks much, dude
